Shared Ride service will pick you up at your door and transport you to your destination. Shared Ride is open to the general public. The service is called “Shared Ride” because there may be other people on the vehicle besides you, or the driver may need to pick up other passengers prior to dropping you off at your destination. Many residents may qualify for free or reduced fare rides.

Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority
The EMTA serves as the public transportation provider for Erie County. EMTA currently provides two divisions of public transportation.

  • Fixed Route (The ‘e’)

    The e fixed routes currently operates 28 fixed routes through the City of Erie and Erie County. In order to provide reliable service to as many as possible, these fixed routes operate Monday through Saturday.
  • Erie Metropolitan Paratransit Service
    The LIFT

    The LIFT Program is Erie County’s safe, reliable, customer-friendly, shared-ride, advanced-request transportation system. Its goal is to provide all of your transportation needs. This service is designed for residents of Erie County who are unable to utilize bus services and consists of several different programs to subsidize the cost of transportation.

Mercer County Community Transit (MCCT)

MCCT is a door to door advanced registration program that services all persons of Mercer County. Transit is funded by state and federal grants and the Mercer County Area Agency on Aging, Inc. Discounted service is available to Senior Citizens age 60 or older and qualified disabled residents.
